As of April 1st, Canadians are now paying even more taxes at the gas pumps, and our gas and oil utility bills. The Carbon Tax is passed on through costs of transporting everything from groceries to building supplies, furniture and appliances. POLITICS 101 IN CANADA
We will be holding FREE information sessions in the near future about how to vote, the process, how to register and why you MUST VOTE in 2025. It is probably the most important election we will ever have. Many people do not know how to vote or know how the process works. You need to know how to register, who can vote, where you vote, different ways you can vote and some history on the different political parties. If you are interested in a free session near you, let us know. We expect to attract large crowds as this next election is going to be the most important one ever.

Where does the carbon tax revenue go in Canada?
All direct proceeds from the federal pricing system are returned to the province or territory where they were collected. Those provinces and territories with their own carbon pricing systems use the proceeds as they see fit.
How much money do I get if I live in a City vs Rural areas?
It appears that the Government is penalizing those who live in rural areas who depend a lot on oil heating. There are suggestions that the Government is suggesting 15 minute cities as a solution to Climate Change. Build more apartments and duplexes and get the rural community to move in the city where they will not need a car. It has already started in the UK.
What are other countries doing?
The UK is to implement a new import carbon pricing mechanism by 2027 to support the decarbonisation drive. Goods imported into the UK from countries with a lower or no carbon price will have to pay a levy by 2027, ensuring products from overseas face a comparable carbon price to those produced in the UK.D
Where has the revenue for carbon tax gone?
The federal carbon tax was introduced in 2019 to put a price on carbon pollution. Today, CFIB estimates that small businesses pay about 40% of the carbon tax. Though the government promised to return 9% of revenues to small businesses through grants and rebates, less than 1% has actually been returned.
Toronto, March 22, 2023 – Despite collecting billions in carbon tax revenues, the federal government has returned less than 1% of the promised proceeds to small businesses, says the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB). On top of that, the government is proceeding with a carbon tax hike of 23% to $65 per tonne on April 1.
