Updates will be posted regularly

For the latest rallies, please visit this page

SATURDAY APRIL 6TH, 2024

As of April 1st, Canadians are now paying even more taxes at the gas pumps, and our gas and oil utility bills. The Carbon Tax is passed on through costs of transporting everything from groceries to building supplies, furniture and appliances. We are holding regular rallies, please email me for information for the rest of April

POLITICS 101 IN CANADA

We will be holding FREE information sessions in the near future about how to vote, the process, how to register and why you MUST VOTE in 2025. It is probably the most important election we will ever have. Many people do not know how to vote or know how the process works. You need to know how to register, who can vote, where you vote, different ways you can vote and some history on the different political parties. If you are interested in a free session near you, let us know. We expect to attract large crowds as this next election is going to be the most important one ever.

Did you know that Canada represent 2% of the top annual co2 emitting countries?

Carbon Tax in the News

Questions:

Where does the carbon tax revenue go in Canada?

All direct proceeds from the federal pricing system are returned to the province or territory where they were collected. Those provinces and territories with their own carbon pricing systems use the proceeds as they see fit.

How much money do I get if I live in a City vs Rural areas?

It appears that the Government is penalizing those who live in rural areas who depend a lot on oil heating. There are suggestions that the Government is suggesting 15 minute cities as a solution to Climate Change. Build more apartments and duplexes and get the rural community to move in the city where they will not need a car. It has already started in the UK.

What are other countries doing?

The UK is to implement a new import carbon pricing mechanism by 2027 to support the decarbonisation drive. Goods imported into the UK from countries with a lower or no carbon price will have to pay a levy by 2027, ensuring products from overseas face a comparable carbon price to those produced in the UK.D

Where has the revenue for carbon tax gone?

The federal carbon tax was introduced in 2019 to put a price on carbon pollution. Today, CFIB estimates that small businesses pay about 40% of the carbon tax. Though the government promised to return 9% of revenues to small businesses through grants and rebates, less than 1% has actually been returned.

Toronto, March 22, 2023 – Despite collecting billions in carbon tax revenues, the federal government has returned less than 1% of the promised proceeds to small businesses, says the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB). On top of that, the government is proceeding with a carbon tax hike of 23% to $65 per tonne on April 1.

The next election will be a climate change election

The article by the CBC supports the Liberals, but as we know the Government heavily subsidizes them

Laura Jeffrey Testifies at The National Citizens Inquiry 2023

Laura Jeffrey, a Canadian embalmer testified at the National Citizens Inquiry. Listen to her story about the industry that she works in and what she saw when Covid happened. She talked about the suicides that happened on a regular basis during Covid. In her testimony she spoke about other embalmers who were witnessing the same observations. After the release of the vaccine, she saw a big increase in people who were dying suddenly. One example was A 47 year old man, tall, fit and healthy died suddenly and his family was told that it was clots. This embalmer had never seen this prior to the vaccine. Many of the people who died suddenly were retirement age.

In April/May 2021 when the vaccines rolled out, she started to see unusual blood clots. She had not seen anything like these clots in her 25 year career. Watch all the videos at the National Citizens Inquiry

Have you seen the Unacceptable Documentary? We had the privilege of being chosen to see this documentary in our city of Windsor, Ontario. If you would like to know if your City will have it please contact Eagle Vision Video Productions

Unacceptable Documentary Reviews

Many watched this documentary and were moved to tears. One of the victims, a woman, who was trampled by the horses has appeared as a guest at many of the viewings. Her scars run very deep, and yet no one is talking about it. It is a documentary that was over 6 hours long and was trimmed down to 2.5 hours. Many scenes you might remember, but the one that was vivid was the woman who was trampled and Csaba Vizi who was beaten, and kicked after walking up to officers to say he was turning himself in peacefully. Their lives will never be the same.

What are 15 minute cities and what you should know

You may have or have not heard about Smart Cities, 15 minute cities or C40 cities. Many of the videos proclaim that the smart cities will make cities work better. Others feel that they will be under surveillance at all times. We already have cameras at every traffic light that is monitoring people who race through yellow lights. But a smart city camera system will be able to do much more.

In simple terms, Smart cities are urban areas that leverage advanced technologies to improve the quality of life for their residents, enhance sustainability, and to improve efficiency. While there are many benefits to building smart cities, there are also potential drawbacks. I asked the question, what are the pros and cons of smart cities:

Pros:

Improved efficiency: Smart cities will use data and technology to optimize resource use and reduce waste, resulting in more efficient transportation, energy use, and waste management. (example would be garbage bins that have sensors in them to know when to empty them) Efficient transportation? In the city of Windsor there are many complaints that the city doesn’t service areas that employ hundreds of skilled workers.

Better quality of life: Smart cities can offer residents enhanced services such as faster emergency response times, (I need an explanation for this as in our city we often have Code Black for ambulances because the hospitals have such a long waiting list) optimized traffic flows, and more efficient public transportation. (Again, we do not service the areas of our city that need public transportation now, how can that be efficient)

Increased sustainability: Smart cities leverage technology to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to a more sustainable future.
Improved public safety: Smart cities use data and technology to monitor and respond to crime, improving public safety and reducing the potential for criminal activity.
Economic growth: Smart cities can attract investment and foster economic growth by creating a favorable environment for businesses, entrepreneurs, and start-ups.
Cons:

Privacy concerns: The collection and use of all of this data in smart cities raises privacy concerns, and it’s important to ensure that the data is handled responsibly and with transparency. Will this information be sold? And to whom?

High cost: Building and implementing the infrastructure required for smart cities can be very expensive, and it’s important to balance the benefits against the cost. With the present economic climate in Canada, the idea that smart cities will be built in the next five years seems dim.

Technology dependency: Smart cities rely on technology, and a failure in the infrastructure or software could lead to disruptions and potentially serious consequences. And not to forget the security of this information from hackers, or who this information is accessible to.

Potential for exclusion: Not all residents may have access to the technology required to fully participate in a smart city, potentially leading to exclusion and widening the digital divide. And this information and technology needs to be protected when used over wi fi connections.

Potential job displacement: Smart cities can result in the automation of jobs, potentially leading to job displacement for some workers or job losses. It’s important to develop strategies to mitigate this impact and ensure a just transition to a more automated economy. As we speak, Walmart has self check out aisles with cameras that are videoing you as you scan products. If they can not trust people to do self check out, they need to reassess having them as more people stop using them due to the invasiveness of the cameras.

How 15 minute cities and smart cities are similar

Smart cities and 15-minute cities

15 minute cities smart cities

are actually two different concepts that aim to improve urban living, but they have some similarities.

A smart city uses advanced technology and data analysis to optimize the use of resources and infrastructure, improve the quality of life of its citizens, and promote sustainable development. Smart cities typically rely on sensors, data analytics, and communication technologies to monitor and manage various urban systems, such as transportation, energy, water, and waste management.

Vs a 15-minute city which is a concept that emphasizes the importance of proximity and accessibility in urban planning. The idea is to create neighborhoods where people can access all the essential services and amenities, such as schools, hospitals, shops, and public spaces, within a 15-minute walk or bike ride from their homes. The 15-minute city concept aims to promote walkability, reduce the need for cars, and improve the quality of life by creating more livable and sustainable communities. Promoting walking, cycling, electric bikes, scooters and skateboards.

While the two concepts differ in their focus and approach, there are some similarities. Both smart cities and 15-minute cities aim to improve the quality of life of urban residents, promote sustainability, and optimize the use of resources and infrastructure. Smart cities can also support the development of 15-minute cities by providing the necessary data and technology to monitor and manage urban systems, such as transportation and energy, to promote accessibility and walkability.

When will smart cities start?

The concept of smart cities has been gaining momentum in Canada over the past few years, but there is no specific start date for smart cities in Canada.  The idea has been around for over six years and being implemented in cities in the UK.  An example is in Oxford, UK.  The local Government has put up a page trying to explain what they are doing.  They talk about traffic filters: Oxfordshire County Council, supported by Oxford City Council, is proposing to install traffic filters as a trial on six roads in Oxford. The trial is currently planned to begin in 2024.  The traffic filters are not physical barriers of any kind and will not be physical road closures. They are simply traffic cameras that can read number plates. Oxford residents (and residents of some surrounding villages) will be able to apply for a permit to drive through the filters on up to 100 days a year. Residents living in the rest of Oxfordshire will be able to apply for a permit to drive through the filter on up to 25 days a year.  **Buses, taxes and other vehicles are exempt.

Their reasoning is, Our aim is to reduce traffic levels and congestion, make the buses faster and more reliable, and make cycling and walking safer and more pleasant.

Several Canadian cities have been implementing smart city technologies and initiatives for some time now. For example, Toronto has been working on its smart city project, called “Quayside,” since 2017. The project aims to create a sustainable and connected neighborhood using innovative technologies.

Other Canadian cities, such as Vancouver, Calgary, and Montreal, have also been implementing smart city initiatives in various forms. These initiatives typically focus on using technology to improve city services, such as transportation, energy, and public safety.

Overall, the idea of smart cities in Canada has been evolving over time, and it is difficult to pinpoint a specific start date. However, it is clear that smart city initiatives are becoming increasingly important for Canadian cities as they work to improve efficiency, sustainability, and quality of life for their residents.

Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom

Every Canadian should be familiar with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom.

Fundamental freedoms – section 2

2. Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms:

  1. a) freedom of conscience and religion;
  2. b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;
  3. c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and
  4. d) freedom of association.

For the last three years we have seen the erosion of our basic rights. There are now fines in other Provinces for supporting your beliefs and conveying your thoughts. Basically thought police. We have always had the freedom of peaceful assembly, but in 2022 the largest peaceful protest ended with police violence. This can never happen again.

For many Freedom has been on trial. Canadian governments were quick to respond to the Covid-19 virus by aggressively withdrawing the rights and freedoms of Canadians. They imposed lockdowns which included the closing of many businesses, schools, and places of worship. Ministers of Churches were arrested. And then the vaccine mandates that governments believed were justified which led to the firing our indefinite layoffs of employees from all walks of life. Now the mandates are being withdrawn, many employees including those working for the city, are now taking them to court. In the City of Windsor, Ontario 104 employees were fired for refusing to get vaccinated or disclose their status. Following a grace period, 84 workers were officially dismissed, the city said. According to a CBC article:

Some of those asked to return to work are still part of an ongoing lawsuit against the City of Windsor. In August, 20 then laid-off workers joined together to sue the city for breaching their constitutional rights after they were fired for not claiming their vaccine status.

Since then, more workers have joined the case, bringing the total number of employees part of the lawsuit to 30.
